DigitEMB Bookish Patch Iron On Book Lover Gifts Reading Book Patches

A heart, and inside it, a full bookshelf. Four shelves of books - teal, magenta, mustard, purple, green - packed into a heart-shaped wooden frame, with a trailing plant spilling over one edge and small ornaments tucked between the spines. It is a dense piece of embroidery and it rewards a close look. The colour range is the achievement here. Each book spine is a separate run of thread, which is why the shelves read as individual books rather than a striped block. At 2.8 by 3 inches it works on a canvas tote, a denim jacket, a backpack or a cap. The heat-activated backing bonds to cotton and canvas with five full minutes of firm, steady pressing. If it is going on the tote bag you carry books in, stitch the border - daily weight is what breaks an adhesive bond. Made by digitemb, who make embroidered patches and nothing else.

• A BOOKSHELF IN THE SHAPE OF A HEART - Four shelves of multicoloured books packed inside a heart-shaped wooden frame, with a trailing plant and small ornaments stitched among them. Dense, detailed, and worth looking at closely.

• BOOKISH PATCHES WITH GENUINE COLOUR RANGE - Teal, magenta, mustard, purple, green - dozens of individual book spines picked out in separate thread colours. This is a hard patch to make and an easy one to love.

• IRON ON, OR SEW ONTO THE TOTE YOU ACTUALLY USE - Heat-activated backing bonds in about five minutes of firm heat on cotton and canvas. For a book bag under daily load, stitch the border.

• 2.8 X 3 INCHES - FITS A TOTE, A DENIM JACKET OR A HAT - Large enough that the shelf detail reads clearly, small enough to sit on a cap front or a jacket pocket.

• THE GIFT FOR THE PERSON WITH TOO MANY BOOKS - Book club, library staff, English teachers, and everyone whose to be read pile has structural integrity.
